SOTW Rules Update: Image Hosting Moves to Niggorex.com
The day SOTW got its own dedicated image host — and its own house rules
A staff announcement from site Manager Niggorex in the Sig Of The Week Hall Of Fame, laying out a new mandatory image-hosting service (Niggorex.com) for all SOTW entries, promising submissions would 'never be removed.' The post details free public and registered upload tiers with their storage/bandwidth limits, positioned as a quality-of-life upgrade for the sig-making community. Notable mainly as an infrastructure/rules update rather than a discussion thread — a snapshot of the site's self-hosted GFX ecosystem and the era's DIY approach to image hosting before the age of imgur.

SOTW Rules! (Sig Of The Week) — updated 28/09/2007
The rulebook for fkn0wned's weekly signature-making contest, laid down by Niggorex himself.
This is the pinned rules post for the 'Sig Of The Week' subforum on Fkn0wned.com, a GFX/design contest where members submitted Photoshop signature graphics for weekly voting. Posted and maintained by moderator Niggorex, it lays out entry requirements (size limits, formats, one entry per person, no editing tricks), voting eligibility (15 posts minimum, no self-voting, IP monitoring for spam votes), and a weekly Monday-to-Sunday cycle culminating in a winner announcement. It also plugs Niggorex's own personal image/file hosting site as the mandatory place to upload entries. A small window into the site's GFX Basement culture and its tight, rule-heavy community moderation style.

SOTW #30 Vote - Again
A vote-rigging scandal forces a Sig of the Week redo, and the accused doesn't go quietly.
This is the GFX Basement's Sig Of The Week #30 voting thread, redone after the original poll was scrapped due to a vote bug and a disqualification for cheating (member 'Rainy'). Regular Malware ran the poll with strict anti-self-vote and anti-spam rules, while Shifty (Co-Manager) publicly defended the disqualification when Rainy's suspicious vote jump was called out. The redone vote ended in a near-tie between Shifty. and DJSketch, with rivaL and c0ke trailing behind, out of 40 total votes cast.
Rainy is disqualified. Reason: cheating. Due to a vote bug we've had to start the vote again, apologies to all.— Malware
@ Rainy - if your sig suddenly jumps from 1 to 11 then what we suppose to do. ban a random person? ... deal with it, if it wasn't you then sorry for the inconvenience but shit happens. end of.— Shifty
SOTW #36: Shifty Wins, Later Banned
The week Shifty edged out Sideways in a nail-biter of a sig contest
This is the Hall of Fame record for Sig Of The Week contest #36 on Fkn0wned.com, the GFX Basement's recurring signature-design competition. Co-Manager Shifty posted the results announcing themselves as the winner, with Sideways taking second and -Still Life- third, plus a showcase image and a note from the admin calling it a close race. Notably, by the time this page was archived a second time, Shifty's account status had changed from Co-Manager to Banned, a quiet bit of drama frozen into the record.
Was close this week!— Shifty
SOTW Rules: How Fkn0wned's Sig Of The Week Contest Worked
The rulebook that kept Fkn0wned's GFX crew from voting for themselves — literally banned.
A sticky rules post by site founder/admin Niggorex laying out the Sig Of The Week (SOTW) competition in the GFX Basement's Sig Of The Week section. It spells out entry requirements (single-frame image, size limits, one entry per person, no self-voting), the weekly Monday-to-Sunday voting cycle, and points users to Niggorex's own free image/file hosting service for uploading sig submissions. It's pure housekeeping rather than drama, but it's a good snapshot of the site's amateur Photoshop/GFX culture and its founder's side hustle of running an imagehost.

SOTW #30 Vote
89 votes, one disqualification for cheating, and a mid-thread vote reset — GFX drama, forum-style.
This was the weekly 'Sig Of The Week' voting thread in the GFX Basement, where members picked their favorite forum signature from a lineup of regulars like Shifty., rivaL, mcmag4, and c0ke. The contest wasn't drama-free: entrant Rainy got disqualified for cheating the vote, and self-voting was explicitly banned with IPs monitored. Partway through, staff member pato reset the votes entirely after a complaint about a shaky render in one of the entries, showing just how seriously this small graphics corner of the forum took its little weekly ritual.
Rainy is disqualified. Reason: cheating.— pato
well. if u look that the render shifty used... its a lil fucked up on the bottom its like she is half a body floating— mcmag4
Votes are going to be reset.— pato
SOTW #27 Vote - Comic Book Heroes
Nine sigs, one comic-book showdown, and one very defensive twin brother.
A weekly Sig Of The Week vote thread with a 'Comic Book Heroes' theme, pitting nine members' signature graphics against each other for community votes. Rainy and LoG1c pulled ahead as the frontrunners with the most votes, while the comments section devolved into some light GFX critique drama after logik92 hyped up his 'twin' LoG1c's entry, prompting Marc347 to publicly pick apart the sig's flaws (missing border, unfixed lens artifacts, no filters). The back-and-forth got a bit heated with accusations of Marc347 being 'defensive,' which he denied, all while other members chimed in with their picks for Rival, Rebelz, and introGFX's Spider-Man-esque entry.
wow my twin made a dope fucken sig. good shit logic— logik92
Your brother's is lacking a border, and there are quite a few flaws.— Marc347
lol, getting real defensive, u Really want to win.— mcmag4
SOTW #30 - Sig Of The Week Contest (Rip Accusation)
Week 30 of fkn0wned's signature contest, and someone got their entry ripped off
This is the second page of the weekly 'Sig Of The Week' contest thread on fkn0wned.com's GFX Basement, where members posted their custom Photoshop signature images for community voting. Entrants like Ishimaru, -Shikari-, Jack Daniels, and Wildchild submitted image links for judging, with some back-and-forth about sig sizing and a request to swap out an entry. The thread ends on a sour note with an accusation that -Shikari-'s submitted signature was actually stolen (ripped) from someone else's work.
Its real nice, I think its too big though— Marc347
-shikari- ripped his signature, please remove him.— Ishimaru
SOTW Rules Update: Entries Must Use Niggorex.com Image Host
The admin's own image host becomes the mandatory dumping ground for Sig Of The Week entries
A site administrator (Niggorex, running under both an Administrator and later Manager title) announces a rule change for the Sig Of The Week contest: all SOTW entries now had to be hosted on his personal free image/file hosting service, Niggorex.com. The post is essentially a promotional announcement for the host itself, pitching its free public and private uploaders, storage limits, and bandwidth caps. It's a small but telling snapshot of how site admins cross-promoted their own side projects through community contest rules.
ALL Sig Of The Week Entry's must be kept under Niggorex.com! Your files are NEVER Removed!— Niggorex

SOTW Rules (Sig Of The Week)
The rulebook that governed Fkn0wned's weekly signature-making contest — GFX nerds, take note.
A pinned rules post by staff member Niggorex laying out how the 'Sig Of The Week' contest worked in the GFX/Sig Of The Week section: one entry per person, size and format limits, no self-voting, a 15-post minimum to vote, and a Monday-to-Sunday weekly cycle ending in a winner announcement. The thread also promotes Niggorex's own free image/file hosting site as the mandatory place to upload contest entries. It's a classic slice of mid-2000s forum culture — structured community contests built around Photoshop skills and image hosting.

SOTW #31 Vote: Cheating Accusations Against Frontrunner Shifty.
A close GFX contest turns tense when the frontrunner has to defend himself against cheating whispers
This is a voting thread in the Sig Of The Week subforum, where members picked their favorite signature graphic from a roster of 13 entrants including Shifty., AcidViper, matt313, and -Shikari-. Shifty. pulled a commanding lead with 35% of 60 votes, but the tally drew murmurs of suspicion, prompting Shifty. himself (a Co-Manager on the site) to publicly deny cheating and promise to post proof from a member named Malware to clear his name. It's a small but telling slice of the site's GFX/design culture and the low-stakes drama that came with community contests.
I wouldn't cheat. Why would I cheat, I enter SOTW as I have sigs to use. I don't really care about it tbh. But still, tonight I will get proof from Malware and post it in General.— Shifty.
SOTW #14 - Sig Of The Week Contest Thread
The week the GFX Basement went all-in designing sigs themed around Fkn0wned itself.
A recurring weekly graphic design contest thread from the GFX Basement subforum, where members submitted signature image entries for judging and voting. This 14th installment's theme asked entrants to riff on the Fkn0wned/[FkN] branding, either keeping the clan look or freestyling their own take. Founder Niggorex posted the rules, schedule, and hosting instructions, and a handful of regulars (komar, MuffinMan, Younggun, an anonymous edited-in post from Furyx) dropped their sig entries for the week.

SOTW #29 Vote
51 votes, one accusation of rigging, and ZoaQ walks away with the sig crown
A weekly graphics-design contest thread in the Sig Of The Week subforum, where members voted on their favorite signature image entry. Shifty posted the poll with the usual rules (no self-voting, IP/spam monitoring), and the field included regulars like ZoaQ, xE, Shifty himself, mcmag, MuffinMan, and Shikari. ZoaQ pulled ahead decisively with 34.62% of 51 total votes, with Shifty and xE tying for second, though at least one member grumbled the results looked rigged. A small handful of commenters chimed in with their picks and reactions after the vote closed.
This shit looks fucking rigged.— Marc347

This is a GFX Basement 'Sig Of The Week' voting thread from late 2007, where forum members picked their favorite signature graphic from a lineup of entries (RivaL, demfire, Archies, mpd, Futerix, tKer, MuusiK^, BEG). MuusiK^ won with 18 votes out of 64, narrowly ahead of Archies and a tie between demfire and tKer. The thread has the usual casual SOTW banter — shout-outs, congratulations, and some light griping about the results — before staff closed it in mid-December 2007.

SOTW #22 Vote
38 votes, one banned entrant, and a whole thread arguing whether a banned member's sig should even count
A weekly 'Sig Of The Week' vote thread from Fkn0wned.com's GFX Basement subforum, run by co-manager Shifty, pitting fifteen submitted signature designs against each other. _pdz_ pulled ahead with the most votes, while several regulars publicly shared their picks (some jokingly referencing a 'Pato' or 'kreuz-bube' who wasn't even an official option). The thread sparked a small side-debate when member aKari pointed out that kreuz-bube was actually banned, questioning the logic of votes going to someone no longer part of the community. Classic low-stakes community drama mixed with the site's GFX culture.
Voted for Pato!— Shifty
but "kreuz-bube" is banned which still makes it for a sense for it vote can someone explain to me??— aKari
voted for 'kreuz-bube -', because its the most artistic signature out the bunch.— Ishimaru

Round 36's theme was 'Girls,' with the usual structure of a Sunday-to-Sunday submission window, a following week of voting, and the winning sig getting posted in an official Winners Section. SOTW #29 - Sig of the Week Contest Thread
Coke-branded sigs, mild admin nagging, and a banned member still showing up to compete.
This is the tail end of a weekly signature-making contest thread in the GFX Basement's Sig Of The Week subforum, where members posted their custom graphic signatures for week 29. The vibe is low-key and casual — a mod nudges the thread starter to fix the week numbering, and two members (one already marked 'Banned' by this point) share soda-branded sig designs, one admitting he wasn't thrilled with his own submission. A small but telling snapshot of the site's GFX/design culture and its long-running community traditions.
Very nice guys keep it up, btw pato change the SOTW Numebr second week I've had to change it— Malware

Posted by moderator/manager Niggorex, the entry showcases the winning signature (an 'American Muscle' themed piece) and awards a special 'reward' signature graphic marking the win as his fourth. SOTW #20 - Sig of the Week Thread
A guy posts a sig, someone accuses him of ripping it, and the whole thread dissolves into 'who really made this GFX' philosophy
This is the tail end of a weekly signature contest thread in the GFX section, where members submitted single-frame sig images for judging. A moderator reminder about the no-animation rule kicks things off, followed by a low-key accusation that a submitted sig was 'ripped' (stolen/not original work). The thread devolves into a brief back-and-forth debating whether it's even possible to prove a sig was ripped versus legitimately made by someone using an alias. Classic small-scene GFX drama in miniature.

Regular NecroticNecro clarifies the mandatory image-hosting rule for entries, ZoaQ drops in a sig submission, and -Still Life- compliments Necrotic's text work while asking about hidden detail in the design. It's a small, casual corner of the forum, low-drama, mostly just members showing off GFX work and chatting about upload rules.

Each week had a theme, a submission window, community voting, and a winner announced the following week; SOTW #13's theme was open 'Freestyle.' A signature contest vote thread turns into a proxy-voting accusation storm.
This was a weekly community vote thread in the GFX-focused 'Sig Of The Week' section, where members voted for their favorite forum signature design among entrants like Dragon13, Shifty., Log1c, and others. Dragon13 led with 11 votes out of 50 cast. The thread's second page devolved into minor drama when accusations of proxy/vote manipulation surfaced, prompting a co-manager to publicly defend the fairness of the process and vent frustration at repeated suspicion.
Then someone has used a proxy AGAIN and an admin has noticed and fixed. But I'm sick of the fucking accusations.— Shifty

Fkn0wned's weekly GFX showdown returns with a freestyle theme — who threw down the best sig this round?

Founder Niggorex posts the weekly rules, schedule, and theme (a freestyle open theme this round), directing members to host their signature image submissions on an external image host. A handful of members reply with their sig entries, image-hosted and posted as forum code snippets rather than full designs described in text. It's a low-drama, routine community-activity thread showing the site's graphic design culture in action.
SOTW #24 Vote
34 votes, one snippy exchange, and a sig contest that quietly reveals who mattered on Fkn0wned in mid-2007.
This is a weekly 'Sig Of The Week' voting thread in the GFX Basement's SOTW subforum, where members voted for their favorite forum signature graphic among entries from Exon, Nath0r, Shifty, p0mp, Ballistic, demfire, AnthraX and others. Co-Manager Shifty posted the poll, praised the improved quality of entries over the previous week, and reminded voters of the anti-self-voting and anti-spam rules before revealing he'd voted for demfire's sig, which ultimately won with 6 votes. A minor bit of friction appears late in the thread when a low-post-count member takes a jab at Shifty, and longtime member Malware jokes that whoever he votes for tends to end up banned.
Voted for demfire! Awesome sig..— Shifty
Lol shifty, your mum never learned you to be friendly and kind?— Novix

Members and regulars posted their signature graphic entries (hosted on ImageShack, TinyPic, and Photobucket) for a chance to win a spot in the SOTW Hall of Fame and a Steam account, following the usual week-long submission and voting cycle. A mix of longtime FkN staff (admins, smods, graphics crew) and newcomers dropped entries, with some self-deprecating commentary and a first-time poster promising critique write-ups for future rounds.

The back half of the thread has a few entrants (Rebelz, Marc347, mcmag4) posting their signature images, with mcmag4 openly admitting he was new to Photoshop. SubZero, posting despite having a 'Banned' group tag by the time of these posts, gives sizing critique on submitted sigs. Low-drama, workaday thread typical of the GFX community grind.
actually yes im sorta new.— mcmag4
next time make the picture a little smaller something around 400x200— SubZero
Best of luck to everyone!— Rebelz
SOTW #40 - Stock Theme Sig Contest
A signature contest that shut down mid-vote because the guy running it, shifty, never showed up.
This was the 40th installment of Fkn0wned.com's 'Sig Of The Week' contest, themed around a required stock image, in the GFX Basement's dedicated SOTW board. Members egawge, DJSketch, BEG!, and Devlin1991 posted their signature entries competing for votes, with some light back-and-forth over whether entries followed the stock rules. The thread fizzled out when members noticed voting hadn't opened and the round dragged past its deadline, ultimately closed by admin pato with Devlin1991 arriving too late to properly enter — a small, mundane, very of-its-era moment of forum bureaucracy.
I think it's because shifty isn't here. Sorry Devlin, too late.— Rebelz
dam nm lol always next weeks— Devlin1991
didn't this end yesterday??— jacal
SOTW #23 Vote
Only three sigs entered, one guy nearly cries about it, aKari wins in a landslide anyway
A weekly 'Sig Of The Week' vote thread from Fkn0wned.com's GFX Basement, where members voted on submitted forum signature graphics. Co-Manager Shifty opens by grumbling about the low turnout (only three entries: aKari, 8bit, and jorskobe) but runs the vote anyway, reminding everyone that voting for yourself gets you disqualified. aKari ends up winning comfortably with 23 of 33 votes, while a few regulars drop in to cast votes and hype each other's work.
Very disapointing week this week but I can't fuck up the system so the 3 sigs entered will have to be entered. I want to see better enthusiasm in SOTW 24— Shifty
not many people entered maybe ill get into 24— infusedmedia
8Bit i voted for u its good— jcomp6
SOTW #37 Vote
56 votes, one abstract sig by Futerix, and a whole subforum built around signature bragging rights.
This is a weekly 'Sig Of The Week' voting thread from Fkn0wned.com's GFX Basement scene, where members submitted signature graphics and the community voted for their favorite. Futerix took the win with 14 votes (27.45%) over Shifty's 10, out of 56 total votes cast, with several members dropping compliments on Futerix's abstract-style entry after the poll closed. It's a small, casual slice of the site's graphic design culture — low stakes, friendly vibe, mods enforcing a no-self-voting rule.
nice sig man i luv de abstract— ynaggo
futerix, his looks great— Cud
Wtf, I forgot to vote but I posted who I was going to vote for— DCLXVI
[V] SOTW #40 - Music
Five music-themed signatures, one week, and a Smod who wasn't shy about her pick.
This is a Signature Of The Week voting thread from Fkn0wned's Art & Design section, round #40, themed around music. BONxFIRE (of the Graphics Crew) posted five entrant signatures for members to vote on, with the usual rules against self-voting and IP/spam checks. Turnout was modest — nine votes cast — with Signature #4 narrowly edging out Signature #2, while a handful of regulars chimed in with quick one-word or one-line votes and opinions.
The kids want techno!— majrbrawl
Oh my, #3 of course. The other ones are IMO nothing compared to #3.— Kimmi

Sig Of The Week #33
The GFX crowd's weekly sig-making showdown, round 33: edit-button rage included.
This is a Sig Of The Week entry thread in the GFX Basement section, where members submitted their signature graphic designs for week #33 of the ongoing contest. Regulars like JuKeZ posted multiple revised entries after struggling with a broken edit function, while others like PaRaNoID, sickalicious, and Dragon13 dropped in single submissions. It's a low-drama, casual creative thread showing off the site's graphic design community rather than its hacking/cheat side.
I couldn't register at niggorex.com, but here is my entry.— JuKeZ
The edit button really needs to be fixed— JuKeZ
guess ill try out— PaRaNoID
SOTW #35 Vote
22 votes, one accusation of a 'rip' — the GFX crew crowns another sig-of-the-week champ
A routine Sig Of The Week vote thread from the GFX Basement, where members submitted signature graphics for the community to vote on. Niggorex ran away with it at over 54% of the vote, well ahead of Shifty. and a scattered field of other entrants. Standard poll housekeeping applied: no self-voting, IP/spam monitoring, and admin Niggorex tossing in a pointed jab about a possible design rip while casting his own vote for Futerix.
I voted for Futerix. For your sake, it better not be a rip!— Niggorex
Voting for your Self is Prohibited - On doing so you will be dropped from the Week...— Niggorex

SOTW #37 - Freestyle Theme
Week 37 of the sig-making grind: freestyle theme, one winner, bragging rights on the wall.
This is a weekly 'Sig Of The Week' contest thread from Fkn0wned.com's GFX Basement section, run by co-manager Shifty. Members submitted graphic design signatures based on a 'Freestyle' theme, with community voting deciding the winner over the following week. Winners got their sig featured in an official Winners Section — a small badge of clout in the site's graphics design scene.
We Moderate Your Fun!

SOTW #22 - Sig Of The Week Contest
A weekly sig-making contest thread limps to its overdue finish line, right on brand for the GFX Basement.
This is the tail end of the 22nd 'Sig Of The Week' contest thread in the GFX Basement's SOTW subforum, where members submitted and rated custom graphic signatures. By this point the round was basically over, with one member asking why it hadn't been closed yet and another already looking ahead to the next round. A late, banned member (p0mp) tacked on a sig submission anyway. Low-key, mundane wrap-up energy typical of a long-running community side contest.
Shouldn't this SOTW be over?— c01Dcu7
I want to absolutely take part in the next MfG— aKari
SOTW #42 Vote
Shifty vs. raxorsharp: the great signature showdown of SOTW #42.

Admin Niggorex posted the poll with the usual reminder not to vote for yourself, and the community cast 39 votes total, with Shifty pulling ahead comfortably over runner-up raxorsharp. A small, low-drama slice of the site's GFX culture and community engagement rituals.
I voted for raxorsharp Awesome sig mate.— Niggorex
